spring is in bloom

Reading: "The Shining and Other Paths"

Listening to: Phantogram "Mouth Full of Diamonds"

Working on: Researching the Shining Path for a new paper

Thinking about: Home

Today I finished my Colette Bloomers, minus the ribbon. They're so bloody cute that I don't want to finish them with shoddy ribbon, or anything the wrong colour. This is the first project I've done using a patter, but I really like how they turned out (minus the China dust smudge on the inside)This is what they look like so far:

I really want some mint green details to make them look a little more interesting.... Just to let you know, I don't have a sewing machine here. All of my projects, no matter how small, take forever to do. But luckily sewing is a great way to occupy my hands while practicing my Chinese with friends. If I'm busy like that, I'm less likely to over think what I'm trying to say and how to say it.

I can't believe how much has changed in just a few months. Here I am, speaking Chinese. How nuts is that?
